by RazRez ContributorAfter making headlines because of their differences, Fox News executive Michael Clemente and White House press secretary Robert Gibbs finally met. No details about the conversation reached the public, but it is hoped that the two will finally reach a truce.
The latest clash between the Fox News and the White House came when news anchor Shepard Smith interviewed Republican Chris Christie while his rival Jon Corzine, a Democrat wasn’t. The two are running for the New Jersey gubernatorial position. Smith apologized later for the “lack of balance.”
While this conflict is happening, support has been garnered for Fox by CNN host Campbell Brown. Her prime-time show invited Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett and asked her about media biases. Jarrett was asked whether her camp thinks that MSNBC is biased as well. However, Jarrett didn’t talk about the network. She didn’t want to publicly accept that MSNBC is pro-Obama and doesn’t criticize his administration that much.
Brown’s response to this? The White House shouldn’t talk about media bias “because when you just target one side, you reveal your own bias – that you are only critical of those who are critical of you.” They will only lose the trust given to them by the public.
